Have you checked the linkage ? Maybe try spraying the links with PB blaster or WD-40

I agree....check the linkage and spray some lube. I had the same issue

Okay, what is the linkage?? You mean a linkage attached to a carburetor??

Yours should have a cable from the pedal assembly to the carb. Older GM vehicles (early 70's and older, not sure when they switched to cable exactly) had a mechanical arm linkage assembly from the pedal to the carb. I had one that "stuck" sometimes causing me to do burnouts at the stoplights in front of my friends, luckily the cop was nice enough to let me off with a warning. lol Try lubricating everything, but also check the return spring on the carb as they can be swapped around for stiff or loose springs to suit your needs.
