Hello all. So I need to buy the door and window seals. Any recommendations? Also need to get the body worked on. Primer and paint. What kind of body shop would work on a van? Went to a couple and both turned me down. Thanks.

Try LMC truck and van for the parts you need. What reason did the body shops give you for not wanting to work on your van ? Maybe you can find an independent shop or guy that will do the work ?

They said they can't find parts for it and don't wanna bother with it. One shop had an 83 g10 nice and painted but couldn't find parts for it. Thanks for the tip. I will look them up.

Most shops only want to do insurance jobs. Talk to them and see if any of their guys want side work or check on Craigslist. Sometimes you can find guys who paint in shops during the week and paint on their own time for cash.

Like Charlie says, most shops just want to do collision/insurance work. I was lucky enough to find a local hotrod/muscle car restoration shop in my area that was willing to do some of the bodywork and paint I needed on my 93.

Do you have a place like that in your area?

Like NateB said; most likely a Hot Rod Shop will do the paint. Check out your local cruise night and hit up some drivers. No doubt they will have referrals.

Of course our forum has plenty of knowledge and experience. frscke1 turned me on to a great guy in our area.

Yes I believe I do. I live in So. California and have found a shop. Already in contact with. But I will try others just to get a good price and paint job done right. Thanks a lot.
