I saw this installed in a few vans now. It's not high pile carpet but it has the multicolor, textured carpet that feels very 70s. I could see one of these colors in your van. I ordered the red one in a sample to look at, I'll post a photo here when I get the few I ordered

I found a different local shop that had it at $1.59 a square foot. I just really dig the color and pattern in person. I will have to wait until around January or February to start my ordering. I have so much more left to do in the mean time. The blue is also bitchin.

Yeah, I think I will keep that one and hold onto my other grilles for the time being. I got a quote to polish the grille, headlight rings, and end caps. It is about the same as a new Glory Grille before I get the headlight stuff taken care of.

I am stoked for some of the stuff I have been coming across, Mickey. I can't wait to see what you do with yours.

I found a better pic of the carpet. If anyone is looking for retro styled carpet at a decent price, check out Shaw's Mustang Sally line. It is being discontinued after 1/1/21. Very similar to carpets from the 70's at around $1.59 a square foot.

My basic color pallet is Merlot metallic, Wild Berry, and black diamonds. I was toying with MDF paneling but it just scratches up too easily for my liking. Everything else is way easier to clean and stays relatively free of scratches.

Same, it is going to be on the trim between the wall and ceiling panels. It'll tie together with the seats, dog house cover, and door panels.

So I went down today to see how the body work was going. The doors and hood have been aligned, there's still a few adjustments needed before the sanding starts.

Some people need to stay away from Bondo.

Because not a lot had been done just yet, I started the ceiling bracing. I still have the walls but it is starting to come together and I can visualize everything. The front cabin is done but the remaining interior bracing is being plotted out.

I should have it all finished next week, then I'll pull the windows.

I ran out of hardware so I have a few more braces to run, but other than that it’s good.

I ran two test walls made from 5mm plywood. I don’t think they’ll be strong enough to support carpet, so I may still go back to the black Diamond vinyl. The only issue is Covid is making it hard for my supplier to get it because it comes from China.

I just needs some minor trimming and then I’ll mark the location for the windows.

I also removed the driver and passenger windows with vent wings. I’m glad I did. I found a bunch of broken hardware that I’ve already restored and have new ones ready for installation after paint.

Hey Charlie; as usual I'm unable to open a link at work. There is a pretty cool upholstery supply company out here in San Diego called UFO. You may want to check it out.
