I’m gonna try to make this short but packed with as much info as I can.
I bought a 2008 express van 3500 with 42k miles on it last year. The TPMS worked properly. 80 psi rear tires 40 in the front. I decided to upgrade my battery to accommodate some more electronics. At this point I haven’t wired any aftermarket stuff. Just replaced battery. Service tire system is on dash now. So I go to reprogram the tires and it flat out does not work.. I’ve been over the procedure 100 times. My vehicle does not have power windows or locks so the only option I have is to use the DIC buttons.. when I get to “press (check) to relearn” it just blinks nothing more. I have tried holding the check for 2 minutes. Nothing. Someone said make sure my door is closed. Still nothing. I will attach a video below of what it’* doing..

further more I’ve been dealing with this for over a year. There has to be a way to diagnose why it won’t relearn. I’ve found zero information on tpms problems. Only instructions on how to relearn them.

Any help leading me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated

the video quality doesn’t really show the words on the display blinking. But when I press the check button. The display blinks and that’s it

Unhook the battery negative terminal and wait one minute. Hook the battery back up. See if that clears it up. If not go to advance auto parts and ask them to use their obd and clear the code. If the message appears again you have a bigger issue. Hope this helps you.

A TPMS light is not the same as an engine light so there shouldn't be a code stored in the ECM. TPMS=Tire Pressure Monitoring System

It's possible you have a bad TPMS sensor on one(or more) of the wheels. They have batteries in them that unfortunately go bad over time. We've had to have all of them replaced on my wife's 09 Impala. My suggestion would be to take the van to a tire shop so they can property diagnose the problem and replace any bad TPMS sensors.

Since it was the change out of the battery that brought on the problem I would try the disconnect-reconnect first before incurring costs at a tire shop. There is no downside and no cost. Computers: When in doubt: reboot.
