After a while the manager of the parts department came out of an office and said they had a shelf of old Mid parts in a warehouse across the highway and asked if I would be interested in buying all the stuff as he would like to write the stuff off and delete from the computer system as they had laid on a top shelf for many years. He was a concerned I might not want the parts, being the boxes had become dirty, corners crushed and a few had been opened and resealed. He said I could have it all I think was around $50. I got NOS side mirrors, front and rear sidemarker lights, rear license plate lamp, taillight lenses, and a few other miscellaneous items. I didn't want to sound to excited to him, knowing what a steal I got, but I was like a little kid on Christmas morning. Great score, I believe it! It is all overhead for them. Now think about a lot of the stuff that gets tossed when a dealership goes under and they can't sell parts off. Actually, I was able to get something similar recently. The idler arm bushing for a Mid Ford is an obsolete part and only one company makes them for $135 a pop. I was able to find a part number for one online, searched eBay, BAM! here is a NOS one for $12 shipped to me. Mine is still fine (thank goodness), but I have one for when I need it. Unless people know the part numbers and what they correspond to, it is just a paperweight.

Does anyone know if the radiator for the 400 with AC has the hose inlet on the driver's side or the passenger's side? | | | Re: 1977 B200 400cu. - Radiator hose unavailable? | Joined: Aug 2017 Posts: 89 Likes: 7 journeyman | journeyman Joined: Aug 2017 Posts: 89 Likes: 7 | Hi Millbog can you send me a picture I have a couple in stock see which one is a matches your I probably have it my email billybob79@verizon.net the shop is fatboyzautotoyz@verizon.net good luck Bill cell is 570-851-9460 , | | | Re: 1977 B200 400cu. - Radiator hose unavailable? | Joined: Aug 2017 Posts: 89 Likes: 7 journeyman | journeyman Joined: Aug 2017 Posts: 89 Likes: 7 | Hi Milldog can you send me a picture of the old one. Many times its the angle of that inlet that drives the shape of the tubing. It doesn't have to be a stock piece, just needs to fit properly and sometimes a custom application ends up better

It has to go straight up as all big blocks do on any vehicle regardless of application. | | | Re: 1977 B200 400cu. - Radiator hose unavailable? | Joined: Aug 2020 Posts: 10 Likes: 1 stranger | OP stranger Joined: Aug 2020 Posts: 10 Likes: 1 | Hey everybody,
Thanks for all of the responses and advice. I ended up having the old radiator re-cored, and found some hose that worked out okay. STILL haven't been able to drive her yet, though. There was crap in the gas tank, which has been my latest hold up.
My next task is tracking down a fuel sending unit. At O'Reilly's and Autozone, their system shows a fuel sending unit for a 22 gallon tank, but mine is 30 (or 36?) I believe I have the highest capacity tank offered. I need to double check, but I know it is more than 22 gallons.
If I ended up using one for a smaller size tank, would it work okay, but just give me a false reading on my gas gauge? Maybe it would be too short to suck up the gas.
Anyways, I've got some hunting to do. Maybe if I scour the internet long enough something will pop up. I imagine if I found one at a junkyard, it would probably be as bad or worse than the one I have now, so used probably isn't a good idea.
I would eventually like to make a thread about my van, full of pictures and details. It's been at a shop for a while. but I'm hoping to tackle some of the minor stuff on my own. I will definitely be doing some interior stuff myself.
Thanks,

If it's plastic then it's the 36 gallon. Van's auto makes a sending unit for the steel tank but as of yet nobody makes one for the common plastic tank. They don't have the same opening in the tank for the sending unit. The steel tank has a lock ring, the plastic one has a series of screws to hold the sending unit in. | | |
