I know there was optional rear heat in the 80's/90's vans but was there ever an option for A/C in the rear?
I'd kinda like to ad something like that (preferably a factory unit) in my 75 Voyager when I re-do it all next year. Those 4 factory vents in the dash are probably just not going to be enough for even a shorty in the summer heat.

My ‘82 has rear AC under the rear bench seat. It was a conversion add on but done in the early 80s. Not sure about a factory option though

It was a factory option on the some of the big 15-passenger vans...church vans and airport shuttles.

I kinda figured it was I've just never seen one, mostly because I've never had to look for one. One more thing to put on the list for the junk yard hunt next week.

Wonder if a rear system from a minivan would work for you. Much more common now that the B-vans have been out of production since '03.

My 91 has rear AC, factory option. There’s even a section for diagnosis in the 91 factory service manual. I’m not sure what year range it was available.
I’ve only sporadically been driving it since March. Went out today and it was warm enough I wanted the ac on. It’s blowing ambient air temp at idle and only dropping to like 60* at 45mph+. Time to figure out if it’s low on refrigerant or something else, compressor was new two years and change ago.

- 318TBI; has headwork and other bolt on upgrades. Runs strong and smooth!
- Powertrax locker
- 3" aluminum radiator.
- Rear air springs, rebuilt suspension, steering stabilizer.
