This is on a 5.7L 350 sbc. This is where the upper radiator hose connects to the engine. Not sure If I should plug these or route them to their proper home.

that looks like where the temp control to turn on a ele fan is and it has that rubber vac covering it.. CTS looks to be disconnected. If there is a ele fan it may be wired to the fuse box.

There is no electric fan on the van. I haven't looked for the CTS but the temp on my gauges goes up when I drive so I just figured it was working correctly.

EGR Switch? I know my 79 Blazer with a 350 had a connection like that and my 76 Dodge Van has one attached to the top side of the radiator with 2 hoses attached to it. Type EGR Switch in a search, lots of photos of similar items like you have pictured.

Chevys have 2 temp sensors .... one at the inlet and one on the passenger side of the block. The CTS looks like a spark plug with a copper bottom ...

It does look like an EGR switch after searching. Seems like an odd location being on the same plate and right next to where the radiator hose goes in.

If it is an EGR switch anyone know where those ports connect to?

It's a thermostatic vacuum control. They were used to control distributor timing advance while the engine was cold. Some versions also controlled other features on different year models during the early emission years. The valve is located in the coolant flow and would open once the coolant temp heated it up. Most would give trouble and be bypassed.
If it did control the EGR it would be in the circuit between the vaccum source and the EGR itself and block vacuum until the engine warmed up.
It's all electronic now. rolleyes

So you think I should plug it or try to find a vacuum diagram? I am having trouble finding one for a 77 5.7l g20. Especially now that this engine has a different carb.
