Hello all,

I bought my 1977 Dodge B200 Tradesman a few weeks ago, and am getting her roadworthy. I just had the fan clutch, alternator, and water pump replaced (among many other things). The trouble I am having now is locating an upper radiator hose. The van has a 400 cu. V8 and air conditioning.

I can't move forward until I get one! The old one needs replaced. It has a Gates number: 26907

I've tried KOI, Napa, Autozone, Advanced Auto, and O'Reilly's. Nothing!

My mechanic doubts that a flex hose will work.

I attached some photos of the old hose. You can make out the Gates number in the photo of the hose on the table.

Does anyone have any info that can help me? Was the 400 the rarest option for these vans, and therefore the hardest to find parts for?

Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks,

Joe

The flex hose probably can't make those bends. The big block A/C vans have a radiator with the inlet on the opposite side as usual and a kinda tight fit on top of that. The 400 and 440 were not the most common engines but there were a lot of them made but the fact reamains that it's been over 40 years sense the last new one was made and the small block hoses fit a lot of other applications. Unfortunately it's a supply and demand thing. Possibly ebay? Or the hard option is finding something that's close from another vehicle that can be trimmed/twisted to fit. I know some other big block Mopars in the late 60's had the same odd side radiator. You'll probably have to spend some time looking through the hose illustration manual at NAPA hoping to find something that's close enough to work. If you find something let us know I know I'll need one for my Voyager build next year!

I had a 1976 Chrysler Cordoba with a 400 and that looks like the top hose that was on it. I did a quick search in my Mopar Parts Catalog for 1974 to 77 Dodge van with a 400 with A/C. It contains no description or part number for a 400. The manual does list for Dodge models A-D-W which I think are motorhomes and Medium Duty vehicles. Run these numbers through a cross-reference parts search and see if you can find something.

1977 with 400 & 440 Engine with A/C, Part # 3733605

1977 400 & 440 without A/C #4036792

1976-77 440 with air, #3827808

1976-77 440 without air #3821460

Thanks for the replies!

I found this on Summit Racing: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/cel-60664/make/dodge

I'm going to check some measurements, and possible buy it.

Meanmachine,

Thanks for those part numbers. I'm going to continue my search with the information you provided.

Thanks for the info, Captain. Does your Voyager have a 400?

I'm hoping to have a hose ordered tonight.

Your welcome, hope to help you find the part. Also check out Jegs, Partsgeek, and Dayco websites. On Partsgeek, they show an AC Delco hose for a 1977 Dodge with a 6.6 liter engine, part # 1639-07761109
