I got a new set of 6x9's and some polyfill for my rear doors. I'm going to take the old floorboards and cut out some door panels to mount the speakers up, then insulate the doors with polyfill.
It will be nice to listen to the stock FM radio (tape deck is broke) with some speakers that aren't totally blown, and with proper polyfill in the doors instead of fiberglass insulation. When that polyfill/fiberglass gets wet and sits for years... Bag it up!

I was planning on making double sure the pop out windows above the panel were watertight before I did the install. It doesn't matter how good your weatherstripping is. Condensation happens inside the doors and exposed polyfill will absorb and hold moisture like a sponge. Bag it and be sure not to block the drain holes in the bottom of the doors when you add insulation. | | | Re: What Did You do To your Van Today? | Joined: Feb 2016 Posts: 1,266 Likes: 43 old hand | old hand Joined: Feb 2016 Posts: 1,266 Likes: 43 | I put insulation in plastic bags in the doors. Doesn’t meant you can’t use what you want, just keeps it from getting wet and staying wet.

Whole thing was gnarly and full of pages from a Cuban tabloid. It was mostly pics of dead people and lots of porn. I picked up a 5 lug Keystone for $9!

Yeah, I have a ton of jute left over from when I did my rear carpet because the place I bought it from was going out of business and gave me double what I paid for (and nearly three times what I actually needed) so I'm going to cut it up and put that in bags to fill my doors. | | | Re: What Did You do To your Van Today? | Joined: Dec 2017 Posts: 494 Likes: 21 addict | addict Joined: Dec 2017 Posts: 494 Likes: 21 | | | | Re: What Did You do To your Van Today? | Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 18,310 Likes: 569 | Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 18,310 Likes: 569 | You need to turn the center section upside down to make a table out of it .... nice job tho
