Greetings from the Dirty South! I'm a 28 year old mountain biker, Harley rider, and just a gearhead. Born and raised in the city of Atlanta. Picked up this 87' Chevy G20 in Savannah for $330.
The seller's late father bought this van new in 1987, who was a US Navy Retired. It hadn't been registered for 4 years when we went to Savannah to pick it up. It had a pinhole leak in the radiator, no turn signals or brake lights, and a very questionable belt. But it made it the 200 miles or so back home. A new transmission and camper shell were added sometime in its life after some questionable decisions were made on a road trip in Montana.
I've done too much the past three months to list here. Let's just say I've been busy.
Dropped her off at a super cool local shop I found for the brake lights, turn signals, and a headlight harness this morning. Hopefully it's the column switch. Call me an amateur, but I can't stand serious electrical work.
The next thing going in is some coated Hedman Hedders, and a stainless side pipe setup, which are all sitting in my garage. I'm so ready to bring some life back to this pushrod 350.
After that, I've got three conversion windows I have the pleasure of installing, which are on backorder from Parkins Accessories. It hurt my wallet, but they will be super nice. I'm also going to replace the weather strip on the pop outs.
Build is progressing well!
