Something tells me there's a lot of Bondo in that van. Owner must not know it's really a B150 (D150 is a pickup truck). '87 was the last year for the ol' Leaning Tower of Power.

Kinda of a cool van though. Do minor accidents constitute a salvage title in CA?

I think salvage is when its totalled and then someone gets it back on the road. I dont think minor body damage constitutes title change

That is correct...
But it could be that it had $1500 worth of body damage, but the insurance company valued the van at $1200.
That happens here from time to time.

I remember seeing this one for sale awhile ago. Maybe there is a reason it's still for sale ? Definitely a nice looking van though.

My guess is that it's close to the same everyplace. It's a dollar amount that makes it salvage. Minnesota is someplace between 60 and 70 percent of retail value. That doesn't take much to get there now. Air bags and related parts are no longer counted towards that figure like they were several years ago. Back when I ran managed a shop I made sure I totaled a few vehicles in the estimate just because I didn't want to have to work on them (some customers can never be happy). And sometimes I'd have to write an estimate where an oil change was enough to total them!
