Thanks for the warm welcome yall! I am from Laurel, MD, the van lived its first 38 years in Baltimore County. I have just removed the rims, the old dry rotted tires have been removed and I have just painted the rims black. I have new center caps on the way from amazon! Here it is before I started working on the rims last night. Pictures of the rims and tires back on will be up when my tire shop gets done with them on Tuesday!

After being away for a while I have finally gotten time to post pictures of my progress (Or lack there of) on my G20.
To be honest I am feeling a little overwhelmed with what I want to do to this van. I intend on fixing the rust. Not just on the outside but on the inside floorboards. I've invested in a MIG welder and am excited for that part. That's not the part I am worried about. What I am overwhelmed about it is the engine compartment. It is riddled with vacuum lines that I want to get rid of, and even though the chevy guys will kill me for this, I want to get rid of the finnicky Quadrajet carburetor. I rebuilt it, but to no avail, the darn thing still bogs down when accelerating. I also just want a more simple, cleaner set up. This, along with the welding, will be my summer project.
Here are the pics I have so far.... As far as the photos of the motor, is there anyone that can tell me what the thing to the right of the carb is. It has different vacuum lines going into and out of it. It is all extremely confusing. As well, from the front of the vehicle, what is the big black ball, which once again has two vacuum lines coming out of it. Thanks for any help.

Welcome to the forum. I am only about 15 minutes away in Severn Md. I did the same thing when I got my van...bought a welder and started patching and then got carried away and built a radical van. Keep us posted with updates.
