Hello all! Very excited to be the owner of a 1982 Chevy G20! This was my wife's grandfathers work van. When he passed last summer it was given to me by her father who inherited it. My wife's father is a Ford guy and wanted nothing to do with it! I am pleased to have saved her from getting scrapped, even though that's probably what its worth! It has the paltry 305, TH-350 trans, and some rust holes. I just rebuilt the quadrajet carb yesterday and got it running! I changed the oil this morning and am now in the process of removing the old dry rotted tires so I can paint the wheels, I have brand new tires waiting to get put on! I recently bought a welder so I can start fixing the rust in the body, and I want to weld up my own exhaust. I know this thing wont be fast, which is perfect, all I want is a loud pig I can go get groceries with! Whenever I do some repairs or upgrades ill take some pictures and keep people updated on the progress! Since the wheels are next on the list, what color do you recommend? I'm thinking black!
Welcome from Florida. Looking forward to seeing what you do.

Thanks for the warm welcome yall! I am from Laurel, MD, the van lived its first 38 years in Baltimore County. I have just removed the rims, the old dry rotted tires have been removed and I have just painted the rims black. I have new center caps on the way from amazon! Here it is before I started working on the rims last night. Pictures of the rims and tires back on will be up when my tire shop gets done with them on Tuesday!
