When removing the Canister did you just plug the Fuel vent line? Mine is just sitting there open at the moment.
When I've removed them in the past, I've just plugged in a remote rollover style vent like this. Mounted in place of the charcoal canister. If you want to retain a charcoal canister, you should be able to use one from a C10 or K10 Chevy truck of similar years as well. I can't say for certain, but I believe they used the same ones.
You don't want to just plug it off as it still needs to vent the vapors from the tank somehow. Also think about position if you've relocated it, don't want the vapor in the cabin or near spark source.
I found a different gauge cluster on ebay so we will see if that fixes some of my issues when it arrives.
Now the salvage yard delivered the hightop yesterday. I need to patch some holes and repaint it. Anyone know where I can get a Viking Formed seal kit or universal one? This is the one thats aluminum and goes on the outside over all the screw holes with a rubber strip ontop of the screws.
Also started preping the inside for rust treatment and paint.
I got the 'new' gauge cluster in and that fixed the oil pressure gauge and the fuel gauge! So now I have the voltage gauge. Does anyone know how that should be run? I am guessing it goes to the alternator.
Also the brake light is permanently on. Should there be a sensor by the parking brake lever?
We seam sealed the floor and gave her two coats of primer and two coats of enamel. Now onto the sound deadening.
Last night I went out and rented a radiator pressure test kit. I was happy to find a steady leak at one hose going to the heater core. I am going to pickup two new hoses and 4 clamps for the core and see if that was the remainder of the coolant leaks.
Thanks ya the Safety Red from Rustoleum was a close match.
Hey what's everyones preferred way to include images? For some reason when I attach images the forum rotates them. I was thinking of creating a flickr library and was unsure how to embed them in posts.
