I recently purchased a 76 G20 at an impound auction, needless to say it needs work. This is my first van so please take it easy on me as I'm sure I'll be coming with lots of questions as I get deeper in to this thing. The doghouse situation is a $h!tshow, with expanding foam, no weatherstripping and one functional latch. I see the where there are supposed to be two upper latches, and at the bottom there are two round holes that looks like it is supposed to bolt through the floor. My problem is I have no hardware in either of these. Does anyone have a picture of what it is supposed to look like? I could simply run bolts through the bottom with wingnuts in the cab, is this correct or am I missing the mark? Please experienced vanners help me out...
Coming this weekend I'll be starting getting this thing wired up as there is currently a red wire coming through the doghouse that appears to be coming from the starter, so this will be interesting to say the least... As my favorite youtuber Vice Grip Garage would say "I would like to have a beer with the previous owner" based on how the wiring looks. All and all I cannot complain for less $400 to get a factory 4bbl 350 and at least $200 of scrap metal stuffed in the back.
