I have a 1985 Dodge B250 with a 318 2bbl. It came with factory cruise control. The problem I am having is when I set the cruise at 60 I have to speed up to 70 to set it at 60. Any idea to the problem? Thanks in advance.

There is an adjustment for that on the servo. There is a very tiny allen headed screw right next to the two wire connector that controls the lag (speed sensitivity) for the unit. I don't have a FSM in front of me but that will tell you what direction to turn it to tighten that up. I do remember that it is very sensitive, recommended to only turn it 1/8 of a turn at a time!

Hi Jim,

The CC has a vacuum motor that controls the throttle cable to the carb. Maybe a vacuum leak, bad diaphram, or a cable linkage, or set linkage adjusted? The CC unit uses vacuum to control the linkage once set. You should check the vacuum connections and cables, linkages to start with. My CC is nonop, my set switch on mine is bad. Good Wrenching!

Thanks captainchrysler. I adjusted the allen head screw and that fixed the problem.
