I have a 1994 Vandura. I am trying to remove the tail light, but once I get the screws out, it doesn't budge. Do I just need to pry it out or is there something else I am missing? I would prefer to remove it without breaking it. It's possible time has just fused it and I need to pry it out, but I wanted to check before I did that. Minimal prying just dug into the metal and almost breaks the plastic.

Thanks!

Check YouTube, should be able to find a video on the proper removal.

I searched through youtube and there was nothing but newer vans (mostly trucks). None of them had the same type of tail lights. Maybe I was using the wrong words...I searched vandura tail lights, chevy g10 tail lights, etc... Nothing. I even tried looking for how you assemble the tail light looking to learn from that. Nothing so far.

I am still looking though.

Yep, it's stuck. I've broke 'em getting them out before. If you're not in a hurry, you can try some penetrating oil. Don't get it on the surface, just the seam between the body and light. Let it stand overnight then clean up later. Can you get to the backside? If so that is always a better option.
They really do need to be watertight but sometimes they just don't wanna let go.

I was wondering if that was the issue but I didn't want to pry anymore just in case there was something else anchoring it in. I will spary the seam down and give it time to soak in and then try again.

Thanks!

Good luck. You might pick up some of the small plastic/nylon tools like the windshield guys use. I've got a set and they've helped.

If I remember correctly, there's a foam rubber gasket that over time causes the tail light to "glue" to the van body.
I had a heck of a time removing mine, too.
