I'm refinishing & re-insulating my doghouse and the gasket that goes all the way around if pretty messed up in a few places. Its also shrunken over time and is about 3" too short to make a consistent seal.

I'm sure someone here has replaced theirs it at some point during a restoration. What did you use?

I've been looking on Steele Rubber, Mill Supply, McMaster-Carr, etc and can't find anything that has a large bulb on the top and a smaller one on the side like the original.

Well, previous owners of my van painted the damn thing about 30 times so after stripping off all the layers of paint, prepping it and repainting it black, I replaced the old crusty insulation with this:

Boom Mat Underhood Thermal Acoustic Lining

I also stripped the same 30 layers of paint from the latches, dipped the handles in black Plasti-Dip, removed those dumb little feet that are supposed to be bolted to the floor and filled the holes where they used to be before re-painting.

Hi Scrojira,
I`m just about to do my (80 G10 Shorty) doghouse, the noise / heat insulation is pretty much worn. Just wondering,
the boom mat you used did you do it in one piece or use several pieces? Also you mentioned getting rid of the `dumb little feet` - mine are ok, but do you have any issues with the doghouse moving now it isn`t bolted down?
cheers..
