Anyone know if they switched the rotor style after 72? Ive had later year Dodges prior to this one and never had an issue finding replacement rotors. 72 rotors seem to be different though. They dont house the studs... Either way, they are hard to find right now. Maybe its just corona causing supply problems but it would seem that 72 is sold out in most reputable places. More expensive too.

72 was a weird year for Mopar rotors, standard drums on most vehicles made the disc brakes a little unusual when new. Most of the car ones I've seen were a two piece style and there were a few vehicles that still had the left had threads. 73 saw very few two piece rotors anymore and they are interchangeable with the previous year if you did them as a pair. The weight difference could make braking effort different side-to-side.

I'm going to guess that the van 72 factory disc is an one year only thing but looking parts up for 73 or 74 would be easier and cheaper. And most importantly work just fine. Pickups and vans used the same brake stuff for many years starting with the two new platforms in 71 and 72. If for some odd reason the 72 spindles won't work with something newer I have a pair of complete (spindles, rotors, brackets and calipers) from a 73 D100 that I upgraded parts on that I'll sell cheap.

Thanks for the info Captain! Upon inspection it would appear whoever owned the van before me converted one side to the one piece rotors but not the other... could be why my brakes have issues. Now that I know the later year stuff should worK that’s the route I’ll go.
