What model do you have?

a 93 g10 swb.....I'll be using it for hauling my mini- moto bikes out of town to socal kart tracks and eventually for whatever 600cc dedicated track bike I end up getting.

I skimmed through your thread (great work so far by the way!), but I didn't see what engine do you have? As long as it's a v8 of some sort you will probably be able to get by with a trailer, mine is just a 305 and it does the job (barely, but you get the idea).

Thanks man! I appreciate it! its a 4.3 v6 unfortunately LOL. i'll probably slowly piece together a v8 swap down the line... I'm not trying to do anything major right away..especially with vegas being currently closed for business.

Daily update: Working from home is nice. I'm getting things accomplished!

The clock that was installed previously is actually wired up and working like it should now. Back-lighting is tied to dash lights now as well.

I added another light to the dome light circuit at the floor on the right rear quarter panel. There are some dim areas and this helps. I also permanently mounted the fire extinguisher

I also finished wiring up the backup camera. The camera works on a switch instead of just the reverse light circuit so that I can turn it on whenever.

The transmitter hides inside of the back door where the camera is, and the antenna is the only thing that is visible.

I did a few other wiring things that aren't really significant to mention. The next things to do are adding blue mood lights around the floor, and get the radio installed. I need to order the speaker amps too.. More to come!

Update. Floor lights are in.

Radio is in, all trim panels around the radio are completed, and the center console is finished! I'm using the factory lighter location for my aux/usb input jack. The ashtray will later be replaced with a 3D printed holder for the radio and ceiling remotes.

Then I started designing and building the mini-bar unit. The tape line is going to be the footprint (the counter top will be slightly more round). The fridge is going where it sits on a drawer slide system, and to the left will be the subwoofer. I have a few other tricks for it including a custom amp rack, champagne ice bucket, safe, etc. We'll see how it goes.

Here is how the unit is coming along as of this morning, I have tested the slide assembly with the fridge installed, and it doesn't deflect much at all even with extra weight, It's very solid! The holes are for cooling/venting for the fridge:

I have also been working with my dad and brother on some 3d printed ideas. (Dad got a 3d printer!) The first little project we tried was a pair of speaker pods for the 60/40 doors. These will hold the Polk marine speakers used for the exterior stereo. Just a simple peanut shaped design that will hold the lighted rings and speakers. It took about 30 minutes to draw them up on CAD, and about 30 hours each to print, but compared to making them out of wood, they still saved man hours since you don't have to touch the printer once it starts.

Here is a part of one of them. We had to slice the design in half to fit on the printing platform. It is also sliced off-center because it wouldn't fit back together very nicely if we cut it exactly in the middle.

Then I wrapped the pods in blue upholstery vinyl. This is the same blue that matches the trim and piping on my seats. I feel like this will tie some color in on the doors while still being subtle/classy.

Lastly, My brother and I were asked to help with a little media project/interview for the company who did some PDR fixes on the van right after paint/assembly. They also wanted to feature the van! I can't say too much more at this point, but that should fun once it's completed. Looking forward to sharing more about it soon.

More build updates to come!
