My gf and I have done mostly every mod to this bike besides pipes and sissy bar. We wrapped up a re wire this weekend when she wanted to relocate her coil and key switch from under her tank to the side, out of sight. It was mostly a hacked up stock harness so we went through and gave it a diet to only things we were using.

Made it as tidy as possible so you barely notice once the tank is on.

Gf did the paint on this bike a few years ago, but here’s the final result.

Freaking killer man. Wiring can be a pain, especially cleaning up that mess, but ya'll knocked it out of the park. You need to get that lady a proper set of paint guns and some good paint. She's got some serious skill there man.

Thanks, I agree! She’s a very talented tattooer so almost everything she picks up, she kicks butt at. Once she’s better at mechanical work, she can take these projects on and do everything. It’s cool to see how far she’s come.

That looks real sharp. I hate wiring also, I guess my van knew that when I started digging in and presented nothing but wiring problems. laugh

My bike came back this last week. I am going to dial the brakes in just a bit more as they need to be bled a bit. Still a tad soft for my liking.

I've been riding it a lot now with all this spare time.

I've got all three kids at home by myself during this mess, so I haven't had any riding time. But my youngest daughter has been bugging the living hell out of me for a ride on the Springer so I suppose we will be going for a ride later this week.

OH! I totally forgot, we got a new bike project for free from the wife's cousin. It'll will be for the kids, mostly the Goose, he is 8 now. Not in horrible shape aside from a really rusty tank. I'm going to soak the tank in white vinegar to get the rust out, then coat it with Red Kote instide and repaint it. We've got so many other projects it'll be a while before we get to this one. We were just given 3 riding mowers today by wife's grandma. Almost got one of them running. Anyway, it's a 1980 Honda XL80S, no title, but it's complete and the title shouldn't be hard to sort out for it.

Tried to talk the wife into letting me make a puller out of one, but she wasn't having any of that.

Figured some of you chopper heads might dig this. I finally got my tanks back from a friend that was doing bodywork for my Springer. Needed a decent stand for fenders and tanks etc. for painting. Searching the old google I found a few specifically made for the task, but they were all in the $300 range. YIKES!

So I was in Harbor Freight today looking at their small boxes and came across this lumber roller stand for use when cutting long boards. It was around $18 normal price, but with the 20% off coupon it came out to $14.

Put it together minus the roller head, used a few pieces of scrap wood, some wood glue, and a couple 3/8 bolts (not pictured) and now I have a fancy tank painting rig. Going back to get another one or two soon so I can do all the tanks and fenders at once as I've got a paint job for a friend's Sporty chop coming up soon too.
