Maybe you could make some spacers to set those pipes a little further inward? | | | Re: 1969 Econoline Shorty | Joined: Sep 2019 Posts: 1,510 Likes: 172 Master Yard Rat | OP Master Yard Rat Joined: Sep 2019 Posts: 1,510 Likes: 172 | My scoop arrived yesterday and I took advantage of a half day at work to go down to work on the van today. I did a quick measurement and installed it. Here she is. I call the exterior done. This is how she is going to look, before all the body and molding work. I also removed the door panels and fiberglass insulation because I will have the body guy repair rust and paint the jambs. Oh wow, look more rust. The custom door panels were installed with steel screws. They rusted in place and some just broke off. Astro, I also used those expansion nuts on one side of the exhaust and they turned out well. I'm going to also make an addition support bracket but I like these over the lag screws.

I did some work on Saturday but wasn't feeling well. Just very tired and drained during all this staying at home. I ground up a bunch of the rust and painted it to prevent more rust. I also pulled the dash pad because I was held in with two trim nuts.
I will start sanding certain areas down to repaint them with rattle can to prepare for the upcoming months and interior work. I also have some Peel N Seal I will prep to install. I've used it on the Mustang years ago and never had an issue for sound insulation.
I may have also found a pretty close match to the vinyl on the inside of the van and it is on a $6 a yard sale. Shipping will kill on it, but I don't think it is going anywhere.
So much time for work, but no where to cruise.
