She is so dirty. Well, today I didn't take many pictures of the work I did. I installed a Venturi Vent that I had picked up from one of the guys at Rolling Heavy. It cleaned up really well and I siliconed the hell out of the base after I mounted it. I had another vent that I was eye balling because the internal brackets that hold the arms are cracking. The metal brackets look like they may fit the same brackets, gears, and cranks. Something to play around with later.

I pulled the old brake lines and will start bending and flaring this coming week.

Horrible location to work on, one of the flared fittings is stripped and has been for god knows how long.

I had to cut short my work day today to take my Mustang to a body shop for a quote. The paint is 15 years old and the clear coat is peeling all over the place. The body has some dents and cracks where the body would flex because of the subframe. I got an awesome quote to do the all the body work and paint the whole car from the shop owner and the place has bang up reviews, including from people I know. If everything works out, the van will get touched up, rust repaired, and everything moulded in. Now my biggest decision is to shave chrome and make it look more 70's street than it already does.

I am also looking into a hood scoop for the van from another party but I haven't heard back from them.

Busy, busy.

I wasn't even expecting to be shared. I bought the Venturi Vent from that guy, wanted to thank him with a pic and they shared it. The van is going in for paint after the Mustang and it'll be one color, not the white and maroon combo.

I just scored another Venturi Vent on eBay for way less than the other one. It was listed in such a way that it never left the fourth search page. The guts are in perfect shape with a crack on the vent. I know someone near me selling a NOS vent that I may have to scoop up to swap to this one. I'll see if I can play around with it, plus I may known someone who does plastic injection molding.

I just paid for it, ordered my scoop, and some assorted other parts. Other than carpet, I'd say she needs nothing else ordered for her.

*Whew*

I spent some of the lockdown working on my van today. I finally got her running under her own power and leak free. Drove it onto the lift so the brakes can get done this week. I took the time to finally install the side pipes and the KC HiLites.

[Linked Image]

The only problem is the lower side doesn't really allow and tight location for the pipes. They seem to stick out a bit with an ugly gap.

Once the brakes are solid, then starts the shake down driving and finally back to body for rust repair with paint touchups.

At least the lights look sharp. I'll get them wired up in the near future.

I'm working on a sweet eBay score. I found a Venturi Vent that wasn't advertised correctly. I never left page 5 in the search. It has some cracks on top but the base, cranks, and knobs are cherry. Time to lube it up and call up someone I know with a NOS top.

After digging around my dad's shop a bit, I found an old novelty plate my mom had made for him back in the 80's. He had a Hugger Orange 1973 Chevy step side. Real bad ass. I like how it looks in the van, especially because I have the same 80's sunset plates on my van. I may give it to my brother though because he has a 1973 GMC step side, though it's in green/blue.
