My 73 Chevy G10 slider door is in a sad state. The roller mechanism is shot, and I also have an "extended" arm that I don't need nor desire. I had a couple standard assemblies I got from junk yard donors, but foolishly unloaded them thinking I could find more. That well has dried up. Does anyone have a good working one, especially a standard length one? I would be willing to trade mine if needed.

Also, BOTH the upper and lower roller mechanisms are shot. The bearings are worn out, and the races are galled and need replacing. None of these parts are made, I can't find any on line, and I have searched through all of my bearing manufacturers to see if I can find a way to incorporate something that may be adaptable. No luck so far. Does anyone have good roller assemblies for sale? Or know what I can do to make them work with alternate hardware?

In addition, both the upper and lower rubber bumpers were shot and have fallen apart. The upper one had to actually be drilled out because the metal base and threads had rusted themselves to the body. Does anyone have these bumpers, or know where I can find them?

Greg

Hi Greg,

800 544 7657 A and B Truck Recycling San Diego Cali. Welcome to the site. These guys get Vans in all the time. I know 73 is not common, but the A and B yard had the donor Van that had a major portion of the sheet metal that rebuilt frscke1's G30 454 4x4. They called him with another van 2 weeks ago.
Worth a Shot. Good Hunting and welcome to the site!

Will the parts from a 95 G-van with the slider door fit? I just picked this van on Saturday so maybe I can go back for more.

I'm not sure about whether any of the slider hardware changed during the last few years or not. I suppose pictures would be a good indicator?

Thanks for the intel. I'll call them. I also need to either find an entire donor skin for above the driver or have someone hand form that entire corner, as the cancer in mine is substantial.

Post a couple of photos if you can. I will be heading back since I can't go to work for the rest of the week.

I will snap some tonight when I get home and get them on here. I CAN go to work; seems the good old So Cal aerospace industry just keeps on chugging along with business as usual.

Thanks frscke1 - I need to get a copy of that manual. Am I right to assume the slider doors are all the same regardless of year?
