Guys, like a lot of people on this forum, I'd love to lower my 02 a couple of inches front and rear. What harm would it be for me to cut one loop off the front springs? Is there not enough alignment adjustment to compensate? Dakota spindles are not an option for me as I do some towing and need the factory braking power.

I don't want to slam it like a Dajiban, just a small drop will do it for me.

I am running just the 2" Dakota drop spindles in the front with the Stock B1500 brakes, although I just upgraded the front rotors to R1 Concepts drilled and slotted.

Very cool! I thought we couldn't run the stock brakes with Dakota spindles... what kind of mods need to be made to the spindles for the rotors and calipers to fit?

Any pics of the setup?

I used 2" drop spindles from a 95 Dakota. I am now running rotors from R1 Conecpts 633-40074L & 633-40074R and their pads 2551-0123-00. I do not have pictures of the new rotors installed but will get some in the near future.

I did have to shave a little on the caliper bracket on the new spindles as there was a slight clearance issue.

Also the tie rod end sit really close to the rotor but I haven't seen any issues yet.

This set up does have a bit of bump steer but I don't think it is too bad,

There are more pictures in my Flickr album.

Very cool. Just looked over your flicker album and it seems pretty straight forward. Did you use longer shackles to lower the rear?

I wanted to use longer shackles but They do not make any for the type my year model has. I need to get 98+ shackle hangers to be able to use longer shackles. I removed 2 leafs in the rear to bring it down. I am planning to put them back and then install a flip kit to get it lower.

What size and type of tires were you running on the Cragar wheels?

Looking good!

Found the Cragar wheel info on your flicker page. Looks like a 265/60-17 would be a good tire size to go with.

Nice job on the build.
