Had a few cars, one pickup.... a few station wagons, but the practcality of pt's and vans always stood out. My first van was a '64 GMC i saw at Joe Bettis junkyard in Vermont....'77 or so. It had no engine, but a posi rear end. I had a 57 GMC 270 & an overdrive gearbox....and, with no small amount of ingenuity, got them all mounted into the radiocally different van. Put a junkyard Benz fan on the radiator.....hauled dynamite with it for several years. that was then. Now: sick to DEATH of computers and rube goldberg smog contraptions, i latched on to a '69 Dodge A 100, a desert plumbiong truck, zero rustholes anywhere. it came w/ a reman 318, w/ only a few miles on it- it was a project, and a mixture of old & new, new including master cyl. & wheel cylinders. Nice. The box stock 318 gave lousy mileage- 10- even AFTER i changed the rear from 4.00 or so to 3.55. So i read a bunch- never had a chrysler product, the small block unknown to my wrenching life. Did a bunch of reading.... hmmm. So, i ordered up https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-k6901/make/dodge and got hold of a new motocraft 2150 two bbl, real good carbs ive used before- about a 20% larger venturi than the stock unit. ive already had dual exhaust fabbed on it- thru two long cherry bombs. thats should help it exhale, the cam & carb should do wonders for the inhale, and more efficency equals better MPG. I note now that 60 MPH is about 2500 rpm in 3rd, on the torque band for the kind of driving ill be doing with it. Most times it will be empty, but it will be called upon to haul 2 Harles- one in the back, one on a trailer- 2x a year, over the rockies. i rarely expect to exceed 4 k rpm- its all midrange im looking for. I finally figured how the hell the radiator comes out, so this should be back on the road in a few days. i hope. Anyway, thats my story & im stickin to it!!!! | | | Re: greetings.... | Joined: Feb 2020 Posts: 4 stranger | stranger Joined: Feb 2020 Posts: 4 | Hello my name is David. David, look for a seam where you can unzip or peel back the fabric on the arm rest to expose the pivot point, should be a fastener, or bolt attaching the armrest to the seat.
