Hope stuff is going smoothly for you now after the separation. Work on the van looks killer as always. I need to address the same front windshield rot at some point, but we're going through the engine swap at the moment. Keep us posted when you can. | | | Re: Robo's Lowrider Boogie Van | Joined: Feb 2016 Posts: 1,266 Likes: 43 old hand | old hand Joined: Feb 2016 Posts: 1,266 Likes: 43 | Looking good! I feel like you may want to extend that intake into an area that’s getting fresher air. There nothing that’s “cold†about changing that filter per se besides better air flow but many stock vans will put a factory snorkel from their air cleaner to the grill so you have a chance of getting fresh cold air in. Your filter now is right above a hot engine. Really dig all the stuff you’ve been doing though.

I have everything planned already, but everything has to go in particular order:) I moved my windshield motors with wipers to the top so they can be hidden under future visor cap and when I'll make my fiberglass hood it's gonna be one "clip on" piece right to the windshield. Of course I'll have engine bay area separated from heater intake area so I don't get engine smell inside the van. So when I make my hood, I'll have air scoop going inwards, for now I'm guessing around 4"x20" area. When I have that, then I'll source out similar size air filter and make a fiberglass adapter from round TBI port to that square air filter. In other words, my air filter will be right behind the hole in my hood's air scoop. The one I have on atm is only temporary, coz there's much more has to happen before even my fiberglass hood. My 305 will get a performance intake manifold which is a bit higher than original, then it will get a TBI spacer and TBI from 454 big block, which is more higher. I have no way of telling what height overall it'll be, even guessing is hard, so I can't make my cold air intake system yet. I just don't want to do things twice:) Besides that my intake/TBI mods will be done at the same time when I do my cam swap and slap on aluminium heads. All this will be done in one go and only then I'll know the measurements for cold air intake to the air scoop.
If it's broken- I'll fix it! If it's not- I'll break it to figure it out how it works so I can fix it.

Those wipers actually failed:) First, one of the motors stripped gears, then just stopped working at all. I replaced them with better units with worm gears but still gonna put original GM wipers with linkages once the weather gets better. Forgot to upload more pics. I replaced the whole side panel. Pics before and after. Also my rear is a bit lower temporary, looks even lower with my winter tires on. Over my rear axle I framed a plywood box and filled it with sand. Last winter when we got some snow she was like a cow on ice, so I need some dead weight over rear axle, just until snowboarding season is over:)

Yeah, primer is definitely not waterproof, but 99% of people driving around primered vehicles never figure it out and blame "Shitty primer", so you caught it quick. Might get away with a sealer, which is just used before the base clear and very similar to primer. | | | Re: Robo's Lowrider Boogie Van | Joined: Feb 2016 Posts: 1,266 Likes: 43 old hand | old hand Joined: Feb 2016 Posts: 1,266 Likes: 43 | It’s impressive how much you keep chipping away on some major projects, especially rust repair. There’s so much little detail to take in, all subtle changes but big impact at this point. Glad to see you back posting again.
