The girls are a blast in the garage too. They get a kick out of all the stupid dad jokes, and I've got dad jokes for days. | | | Re: Queen Anne's Revenge | Joined: May 2018 Posts: 2,397 Likes: 64 veteran | veteran Joined: May 2018 Posts: 2,397 Likes: 64 | Ain't nothing to joke about kursed, I got my son into vanning he works at a shop but I end up working on his van while he sits and plays on his phone. They're so hard to work on!" ... Yeah, so hard to work on that my 14 and 15 year old daughters can pull a motor. LMAO. I guess the one benefit to people thinking vans are super hard to work on is it saves more vans for the rest of us to buy and customize. | | | Re: Queen Anne's Revenge | Joined: May 2018 Posts: 2,397 Likes: 64 veteran | veteran Joined: May 2018 Posts: 2,397 Likes: 64 | Amen to that brother, engine is a death sentence to most non vanners they sell them cheap or scrap them. There loss our gain.

I wish I had a dad that was like you when I was that age. It’s really going to impact them on a positive way for the rest of their lives.

I wish I would have been more interested in the house renovation side of things when I was younger, I could have learned a lot more. He passed three years ago, but I did get to learn a ton from him.
Most importantly though, and what I'm trying to teach my kids, is that you can teach yourself how to fix almost anything without YouTube and Google, if you're willing to try. I'm trying to show them that if you just get the motivation to jump in head first, even if you fail, you will learn from the failures and next time you will get it right.
I grew up around the local drag strip and dirt track, and my pop always let me get in on the work that was being done. Even though I was too young to even really know what was going on, that has helped with my kiddos a lot. Now if I can just get them to keep their room clean. LMAO. | | |
