Years back some vans had vinyl tops installed. Just on the roof, not the sides like a landau option. Just inquiring if anyone has done this recently? regards, ccccccc in SW Michigan

Sounds like a great way to speed up your roof rusting out if it ever sees any sort of moisture. I would pass personally. Maybe paint it with a textured matte paint to replicate the look instead?

Tuner, Great idea on the paint vs. vinyl top. Regards, ccccccc in SW Michigan.

+1 on the roof rot. There are a few in the local junkyards and one a friend of mine used to roll back in the 80s is now sitting in another guys parts stash. All have horribly rotten roofs. I think they look neat, but require way too much upkeep.

I sorta liked the look but knew about the rot factor, my brother and I worked at a trim shop in 1984 and installed tops on cars, it is a piece of of vinyl with a fuzzy backing just perfect to trap moisture.

When in doubt..get the sawzall out..

That's what I was thinking.
After I got my truck bed done at the Line-X place, I've been looking for excuses to get other stuff done.
The guys there had sprayed a donut... and yes, it was indestructible. LOL
