I'm wondering whether anyone has an opinion on how the addition of a drop visor and/or rear wing/spoiler will affect a van's gas mileage? I have just found a '74 Ford E200, and would love to see it with a visor. I've been told, however, that adding one would significantly raise its gas consumption. Any thoughts on this? Anyone know of a source for an owner's manual for this van? Thanks in advance.

I have a visor on my other dodge van and I don’t really notice any difference from when we first got it when it had no visor

I would be pleased if either of these additions were possible, so your answers give me hope. Outstanding gas mileage isn't the reason I wanted a van, but fuel economy is still relatively important to me. On a fixed income, more money spent on gas means less time spent on the road. And that's where I want to be. | | | Re: Windshield Visors | Joined: May 2007 Posts: 9,854 Likes: 8 Festerus Vannimus | Festerus Vannimus Joined: May 2007 Posts: 9,854 Likes: 8 | When I had my 91 Dodge B-250 , 5.2 V8 and auto trans, it got 14 mpg BEFORE I added the drop visor, and it got 14 mpg AFTER I added the visor...so yeah a HUGE drop in mpg ! Tell them to shut up, you are driving a van not a Honda ! If you are worried about mpg, sell the van and get a Honda, Hyundai, or Toyota , not a van.
Just my opinion

The visor has wind reliefs to stop the wind from holding you back, thus loosin gas milage
