 1984 Dodge 318 No Spark/Spark For A Second. | Joined: Apr 2013 Posts: 2,427 veteran | OP  veteran Joined: Apr 2013 Posts: 2,427 | Anyone have any ideas on how to test the little Ignition control module? How to test the pick up coil? Anyone have a service manual that could take some pictures of these areas? Van has spark for the 1st couple cranks and then nothing.

Circa 1978,79, The Tile contractor I drove truck for had a fleet of late model D 318 pickups. I had a box of ignition resistors with me, and spent many a fine day on long drives out to rescue stranded crews. Turn a few screws, Vroom. Every time. Lunch. Drive home. Good Wrenching!

The Ignition control module was bad, The engine fired right up after replacing that. I also had to replace the coil and ballast resistor.
