I have rebuilt the entire ac system from the firewall to the compressor , I have been told to replace the orafice tube and it’s suppose to be in the ac line from the condenser to the evaporator! I have looked for hours for the orafice tube location , took apart every fitting to put new o rings in and still have not found the orafice location ! I am wondering if it does not have one and instead has a exspansion valve inside the cab with the evaporater , no one can give me any info on this , any help out there ?

Just found a website that shows the system , it don’t have a orafice tube , it has a exspansion valve , why would the auto parts stores not just tell you that verses selling you a orafice tube that don’t fit in the system ?

You probably have a dealer add-on a/c unit. I have worked on a 76 or 78 G20 Van and it had an orifice tube. Right where the metal hard line liquid line runs into the evaporator inlet. The evaporator on a van with stock air is under the hood.
