this was my dads work van...87 dodge b150 originally with 833 manual tranny,1 bbl carb on a slant 6...no a/c

i just recently swapped out the 833 for a 904 automatic and went with b&m megashifter and swapped out the 3.5 rearend for a 3.2 rearend....and lastly.i went with the much taller rear tires thanks to seeing the pics of deathorvictorys 87 dodge...with those meaty lookin tires....thanks man

rear of van has 2 inch lift and tires have plenty of clearance .....speedo is way off but i have the correct speedo gear coming in the mail

next bit of work will be putting on a 2 bbl intake, nos carter 2 bbl and dutra duals...parts sittin in barn screaming out to me...haaa

heres a few pics....thanks to all who have been helping me with Dads van...

Nice... What year is your van?

Curious... When you all put your van in a stance like this do you also consider the angle of the driveshaft and its impact on the ujoints?

DadsVan... We only cruise and rarely above 55 but are still evaluating height changes that occurred when we changed springs and shocks. Were blowing through u joints every 12,000 miles. Now back to oem specs and will see how it goes. Prior to our first changes she was still running original 28 year old u joints no problem. Several folks mentioned the angle of the drive shaft and how there is a very small tolerance or something of that nature. Anyway.. your van looks amazing! Ours is an 88 front and tail lights are very similiar that's why I was curious. Our front grill got busted out in a hail storm and required some mods but it's still going strong otherwise.

Niko - can you shim your rear end to adjust the angle? Generally is practiced by 4x4 folks when they lift their rigs. Many times lift blocks are standard use for rear end lift

We could probably shim or other things but on our case we don't want the stance too be higher in the rear. We live in the van full time so the less we have to mess with leveling things up at night the better.

That's a killer Dodge! Digging the hotrod rake with your wheel/tire combo. Do you have the 318 in it now?

Looks great man. We need to get together again for a show and tell. I got 2 inch blocks on the rear of Black Magic. No problem with the u joints so far.
