I'm following along to see what you turn her into for sure. | | | Re: 1969 Econoline Shorty | Joined: Sep 2019 Posts: 1,510 Likes: 172 Master Yard Rat | OP Master Yard Rat Joined: Sep 2019 Posts: 1,510 Likes: 172 | Thank you everyone for the kind words and advice. Yesterday, my brother and I went to the junkyard to take what we could off of a '73 that was in the lot. Someone had beaten us to it and stripped many of the good parts but I didn't come away empty handed. I took some switches, wiper motor, some door handles, lenses, throttle linkages, and any other parts I could scoop up that I could see breaking in the future. I wish I had taken the tall seats from a '76 E-150 in the same lot, but they would have been too expensive for what they were worth. The ones I have are from the 80's or later and are jacked up. I can still use them to drive but I wouldn't want to.
On my dash, above the dog house appears to be where the glove box would have resided. I have the bezel for the radio, but nothing to bolt it into to secure it to the dash. Does anyone have a close up pic of this area so I can get an idea? I can't seem to find anything on google other than people screwing a piece pf upholstered wood here.
This weekend is going to be mostly pulling the radiator and the fuel tank so I can take them in for repairs. Bummer about not finding the fuel tank being repopped anywhere but such is life. Anyone in the NorCal/Sacramento area?

You definitely can't go wrong with Cagar SS wheels. Looking forward to seeing more. I don't know why they would run tach wiring through there. Ill move it around but what a bad spot. I wonder what switch went there. I have the upper bezel for the radio and speaker, but nothing to mount it to. There is a bracket on ebay but I am not sure if this is the right one for mounting. Also, is there anything else that goes in or is it an open glove box? Sad little 302 sitting in the engine bay. I went to a local swap a few weeks ago and a guy was selling NOS Cal Custom parts for $1. I grabbed what I could for a sbf for the Mustang but now I'm thinking some of it would look more at home on the van.

She starts and idles beautifully. The previous owner told me the gas tank was leaking. I crawled under and gave the tank a good inspection. It appears the filler hose is very old if not original. It is hard as a rock and cracked where the neck of the tank meets the hose, thus allowing gas to spill out. I will get one ordered in the next few days once she is inside my dad's shop and not my apartment complex parking lot. Looks like I will be replacing all the hoses and belts.
I'm currently waiting on an old Hayes manual to arrive to help me through some of this work. For sure the radiator will need to be replaced because it shot a nice pinhole stream of water at me last night.
I can't wait to get under this thing, replace the oil, trans fluid, and run a good tank of gas with a cleaner through it.

Haynes doesn't always have all the ins N outs of fixing things ….. maybe one of these will … shop manuals https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fr...ul_noapp=true&_odkw=ford+1969+manual

That's what I thought at first, but I have a bezel for a radio and a speaker that fits perfectly in the top half of the hole. It just has nothing to mount into.

I know the filler hose is shot, but that is easy. I took measurements of it and it looks like it is the same measurement of the tank from a 1975.
Is there a different location of the filler neck or something? Because this tank is the right size.
