Lol, ain’t that the truth.

Thankfully, I didn’t have to drop the beams. The king pin was mushrooming at both ends. With some help we were able to get it to budge 1.5” inches. I cut the end off, knocked it back in and with two taps of the hammer she dropped out. New pin in, needs a new castle nut as the old one stripped itself coming out. Thankfully the tie Rod isn’t stripped. I can move on to brakes after, then fix that road rash. I’m quickly coming up to the short list of stuff to finish. Just waiting on the body…

Things are moving slow, gas is moving up, and I am just biding my time right now. I found a guy with connections on making plastic parts from a factory in So-Cal. He is going to make me a new bubble for the Martin sunroof and I am going to ship him some ports to make new diamond bubbles. Maybe I will explore making new rear door window bubbles in the future. Maybe even different colors. He even told me to send him a busted Venturi Vent and he could make the vent lid and door, different colors also. I am going to see how this pans out. There is a bit of a gas crunch in the house so my excess funds for exploring these projects is a bit slow at the moment. I will keep everyone up to date.

I also found these two hoods for my van today. I picked them up. The fiberglass one is for a non power brake van and the other is in better shape than mine. I might sell the fiberglass one or try and trade for the one I need. The guy I got them from is the original owner of his van, got it back in the 70's when he was in high school. He then went to the local community college to learn paint and body. Parts and cool old dudes are still out there.

Fresh chrome for the side grille covers. The grille will probably get chromed in the winter.
