Well, I got the Martin cleaned up and assembled. Unfortunately the glazing that goes inside of the frame won't attach in one spot. I realized the glass wasn't fully pressed in when the silicone dried. I'm going to have to cut out the glass and redo the whole thing again. I may just use an old bubble I have laying around that is the same size, polish it, and use it instead of the glass piece. There is a lot of white hazing on the glass that won't come off.
At least the frame looks good.
I've also been spending a lot of time polishing the old aluminum slots I picked up over the summer. I'm not expecting a mirror shine but they came out ok. I will need to sand them down on the lip because of curb rash, some pitting through out, and general scuffs.
Before
After
I used a combination of a red/maroon scotch brite, WD40, and then some Mother's. They took their best shine when I hit them with some NevrDull, then followed it up with Mother's.
