I would, but he is too far south. About 7 hours. My old man has a front end and alignment shop. We'll figure it out or I'll find a frame shop that would be able to bend it.

So two weekends ago, we made the choice to use two spare doors I had lying around to replace my rear doors due to rust issues. These rear doors are window doors. I called a friend of mine in So-Cal to see if he had any pop outs for my van in his parts. It just so happened he was at a junkyard and was looking at a mid Ford with pop outs on it. He picked them up for me but they were going to need some work.

They were covered in black out paint and someone had tried to work them out due to a rusted bolt, bending the hinge in the process.

I made quick work of the black out paint with a scraper. I ended up taking the window to a guy around the corner I know who is a mechanic/restorer. Within 40 minutes, he had the hinge straighter and moving like butter.

I also got to see his bitchin F100 with a Coyote and a Whipple Supercharger.

I still need to clean up all the old gasket around the edges and paint the frames.

I am going to remove the old rivet on the hinges, polish the chrome, and then re-install.

This weekend I was able to do the first coat of paint on the pop outs. I cleaned out the weather-strip channel of the 50 year old, rock hard junk. I only found a small spot of rust rot. I cleaned it up and epoxied it up, then painted in the channel. The wind has flared up today so I I will paint tomorrow if it is calmer. Plus, my louvers should get here today so I can run a test fit on them.

Looks like it's all falling into place.

I finally finished the pop outs. Cleaned all the rust, epoxied, painted, new rubber, NOS louvers, and I’m just waiting on hardware installation.

I’m thinking about a 35% tint so no one can look into the back but I can still see out at night. The rest of the windows are going to be 50%

Bitchin' man. I'm anxious to see these new doors and windows all buttoned up.

No real change but the weather is shifting quickly. Closing in on the final rust repairs on the body, then the roof rust repair is going to get finished.

I am hoping to come across a decent less rusty power brake hood. I am going to call Kurk in the next few weeks and arrange for a new overhead visor as the one I bought recently wasn't for my van, despite being the spitting image. It is about 6 inches too short. No idea what it goes on. I'll see if he is open to making me a fiberglass hood in the future for my van and mold in some scoops. Maybe a few more small things.
