| | | Options for Dodge front speakers? | Joined: Dec 2012 Posts: 58 journeyman | OP journeyman Joined: Dec 2012 Posts: 58 | Hi folks, I've been in the process of upgrading my 1993 Dodge b150's sound system and I'm looking for better option for front speaker placement. I'd like to have my front speakers out of the door panels closer to ear level, maybe on the dash.
Right now I have a 700/5 JL amp, giving each speaker in my 4-channel system 75 watts an. I have two 6x9's in the back, near my tailights, and in the front I have a set of component speakers with the woofers in the stock door location and a pair of tweeters surface-mounted on the dash.
I'm disappointed with the speaker location in the front. With the speakers way down by my feet i feel like I miss out on a lot. And the rear speakers are so far they don't really add much to the experience. I'd like to make the door speakers my "rear" channel and add front speakers up higher somewhere on my dash... but I can't figure out where.
Has anyone done anything to add speakers to their dash on their Dodge?
One thing I was considering mounting small "outdoor" box-type speakers (the ones with the brackets) on the surface of my dash....
Any ideas or photos of what you've done would be awesome! I hate mine in my doors too and will be building one soon to install either 6.5†or 6x9’s above me.

I hear what your saying. Someone removed the door speakers on mine and all I have are two rear speakers. They also cut holes for tweeters in the doors. It seems them were in the process of the upgrading the stereo system and that was as far as they got.
Some may disagree as far as acoustics are concerned but dashboard speakers seem to work the best at bouncing sound off the windshield better than door speakers. Maybe it's just because it's closer to my ears.

Keep them in the doors, but change the angle they are directed in like these. | | |
