Good to hear you got the problem solved, amazing what a few minor adjustments can do to a vehicle's performance. One thing I learned many years ago about carburetors, if you don't know much about them, its best to not turn screws. Had two old Chevy's that I let friends try to adjust the carbs, they never run right again, till I took them to an old guy who rebuilt carbs, he had them running smooth in a matter of minutes. I also witnessed first hand a couple neighbors who rebuilt a carb on his Corvette and another who rebuilt one on his Ford pickup. Both these vehicles had a carburetor fire and were total losses almost immediately after the rebuilds. I was mowing my yard when the guy was coming out his driveway after the rebuild, he said the vette seemed to be bogging down, hit the road by my house, jumped on the gas pedal, heard a backfire and the car went up in flames, watched the fiberglass body melt into the road.

Wow. Safety First. Yes, glad you got that sorted Jerry. Way too nice of a Unit to lose for sure.

I have a video of it running out on FB but it's to much to post it here.

The Carb rebuilder took about 15 seconds to tell me what was wrong.

Sounds like the idle mixture needed to be adjusted. Those screws control the air/fuel ratio at idle, not the vacuum level. Richening the idle mix will increase the engine vacuum (to a point) because the engine is running more efficiently.

Windows- they're what make a van worth owning!

Yes what you said. You were right in your first response when you said it could be out of adjustment. and It was .
It's still a little hard starting , but better than it was before the rebuild. I did adjust the choke after the last test run. It's cold outside I should go try, Think I will.

Nope still a bit hard starting , But it runs really good once it pops.
