I remember back in the 1970s when the telephone and communication companies in my region had lots of service and repair utility men. They would trade the vans in at the dealerships every few years. There would be many of these vans lined up in the used vehicle section of their car lots and could be bought for a few hundred dollars. The dealerships had made their money on the purchase of the new van and just wanted to move the used ones quick being they were taking up so much sales space. Most of the vans always had the windows on the two side doors. Knew of many guys who purchased these cheap, gave them a slam paint job in a backyard garage, put on a set of mag wheels and enjoyed many years of vanning.
