Are you going to paint/cover the dash? If so, what color?

Both with rings and without looks good, but my vote will depend upon the final color of the dash.

Looks great thus far, keep up the labor of love..

I will be covering the dash in black leather with stiching on the seams.

So Im busy on the van again as I have some spare time. Spent the day installing the Big Block 454 motor into the G20 as it will not be coming out again.I had to cutaway a section of the cross member to fit the 4L80E as it was sitting a little bit high under the body and I can't drop the motor any more than it is. Transfer case still has to be installed. I can now start with the rear brake piping and the fuel lines. I will take a couple of pics of the under carriage and post them to.

Hi all Finishing off the body work under the Van so that the 4l80e and transfer case will fit some pics and as you see in the pic front leafs are now almost bending the other direction. I now have a problem and am not sure what to do I have found a 14 bolt 8 lug rear axle and a Dana 44 front 8 lug. Do I stay with what I got or do I change to the new setup. Existing is a 12 bolt corporate 6 lug rear and 10 bolt corporate front 6 lug? Some input would be of great help.

Stay with the 14 bolt .... the beefier the better stay with the 1ton ... you do need more leafs to hold up this 10,000 lb monster maybe 7 leafs 5/16 thick like mine ... the main leaf is 3/8. but to have 5 to 7 3/8 thick would be very stiff suspension

Thanks for the info will send in a sample so they can make new ones for me .I have noticed that they are straight at the moment even on a spare set that I picked up yesterday do they need a curve in them as the second set I got came out of a K20 and they are the same?

Never seen a set flat that worked very well. There has to be a up curve to them. Mine has at least a foot curve in the free state.
