Hey everybody. I just bought a 74 Chevy G10. Apart from the exterior shes in pretty rough shape. She has a 355 thats shooting light blue smoke out of the exhaust. The rear main seal is leaking, the lower radiator hose is leaking coolant, the floor has rust spots in it. This will be my first big project car and im nervous about it, but im willing to give it my best shot. Why did i pick a Chevy G10, well my dad had a 74 G10 back when i was a kid and i had alot of fond memories in it. So it begins smile [Linked Image]

Welcome from Florida.
Great looking van. I'm sure you will do great with it. We have a lot of vanners here with a lot of knowledge.

Cool van. Looks like my van's slightly cleaner older brother.

I hope you ended up talking them down some from the $8500 asking price...

Hey we are twins. I definitely made a much less offer then what he was asking. He didn’t accept the offer and then the auction expired. He relisted it for less then accepted the same offer I made. The guy was not very honest with the condition of it. He has a bad review coming.

Yeah, I saw that van on an auction site and it looks like someone just threw a quickie paint job on it to freshen it up and make the sale. If you're cool with the color, at least the paint is already done and looks decent, right?

My van had holes in the floor and all the doors were rotted out at the bottoms from years of leaking window seals when I got it too. It's all solid now. Floors are easy to patch because they don't need to look good.

Don't get discouraged. They all need work and you've got a really cool little van there!
