Hey everyone! Just picked up a 95 Damon Ultrasport C class RV about 6 weeks ago. It's a Chevy G30 5.7TBI/4L80E front end, came with 34k miles, one of shortest C classes made as a 20 foot model.
I had an 84 Chevy G30 6.2 21 foot RV for about 7 years prior to this, sold it summer 2018. Wasn't planning on getting another G chassis, but spent a few months this summer searching for another small C class to take to Burning Man, and this beauty came along with super low miles and a great asking price, I couldn't say no.
So far it's mostly been maintenance. Had some electrical issues that I resolved by cleaning the rust off the battery to block ground, and adding a battery to chassis ground. Changed all the fluids, air filter, and tie rods. Just did an LED retrofit on the headlights that came out great.
Planning on doing some beefier shocks, and once I sell my Subaru, putting a nice solar system in there... maybe a set of headers/exhaust for a few more ponies and a little more MPG.
While I have some experience with my old 84, I've mostly been an import guy, had 5 Nissans and currently have an 07 Subaru WRX STI with about 500hp and about 100 mods. Decided to give up it though as I'm not independently wealthy, and I'd rather spend my hard earned cash on traveling VS buying spendy parts and track days at this point in my life.
Really cool to see an active forum like this! Spent a lot of time in the last decade on Subaru forums, and the previous decade on Nissan forums. Sad to see them all dry up and get replaced by annoying FB groups where no one learns anything. Great to meet y'all!
Its not a van or it would have been sold as a van .... yours was sold as a RV.

I did read the about page... and one of my intentions with the purchase of this vehicle is living a mobile life for a while. Isn't that what this is about?
"...in the hope of bringing vanners everywhere closer together and to promote the sport Customizing a vehicle is one of the aspects that make vanning fun."
Was hoping to head down through the SW US this fall and into Mexico for the winter... now it looks like that might not happen until January but still my trajectory.
Apples and Oranges aside, You got a last year production incomplete G Van!
I think you scored one very clean, extremely low mile G30 Incomplete Unit that was ordered and delivered to Damon, who then manufactured your G Van Cab and Chassis, into a nice Class C Cabover MH. The G Cab/Chassis Unit is covered in the G Factory Service Manual, Clean little Shorty MH Raphael. Nice find! IMO would be hard to duplicate again in the wild.
Happy Vanning
P.S. Not a big fan of Tubular headers in a Motorhome. Pull any doghouse, in any van, drive around the block a few times, gets pretty warm eh?
I think the cherry red glow on headers I've seen after pulling a load is alarming to say the least. Never saw that underhood on my 327 C 10. IDK. It;s just me, but I'd run stock manifolds full plug heat shields into a dual crossover 2.5, or a single 3 inch exhaust., Lose the stock Cats. The dual exhaust from a diesel would bolt right up. More Pics and keep us posted Bro!
