Call SoffSeal (best) or Steele Rubber (second best). | | | Re: Front Door Rubber? | Joined: Sep 2018 Posts: 111 Likes: 2 member | OP member Joined: Sep 2018 Posts: 111 Likes: 2 | Seems rubber seals are available from '78-'94 or 5, none for '72-'77. I have a set off '78 & '77doors and can't see any diff. in them. Anyone else been threw this? And yes LMC isn't my first choice hope they aren't my only choice............... | | | Re: Front Door Rubber? | Joined: Dec 2017 Posts: 494 Likes: 21 addict | addict Joined: Dec 2017 Posts: 494 Likes: 21 | I have a '75 driver side door and a '78 passenger side. No difference between them.
Again, call SoffSeal. Even if the seals say "sold out" on their website. And please check your PMs... | | | Re: Front Door Rubber? | Joined: Sep 2019 Posts: 65 journeyman | journeyman Joined: Sep 2019 Posts: 65 | FYI I just called soffseal and they said the g-van door seals will be back in stock around march... ugh. but pennys on the dollar compared to Steele rubber.

Like the quality so far. Don't know if posting here is allowed so sent you a PM. | | | Re: Front Door Rubber? | Joined: Dec 2017 Posts: 494 Likes: 21 addict | addict Joined: Dec 2017 Posts: 494 Likes: 21 | The quality of that eBay stuff is great...until you put it on and realize none of your doors will ever close properly again because the rubber is too hard.
As the old saying goes: buy nice or buy twice. | | | Re: Front Door Rubber? | Joined: Sep 2018 Posts: 111 Likes: 2 member | OP member Joined: Sep 2018 Posts: 111 Likes: 2 | With some of this van resto parts it's hard to buy twice if there is only one supplier for the part you need AND they have it in stock the time you need it. There matbe only one manufacturer of the rubber being sold by multiple venders names. The rubber seals I bought are very soft, just like I get for the ho rods from Steele Rubber. Please send me a PM if you know of the where abouts of better rubber. Thanks! | | | Re: Front Door Rubber? | Joined: Dec 2017 Posts: 494 Likes: 21 addict | addict Joined: Dec 2017 Posts: 494 Likes: 21 | But I already told you right here in this thread... | | | Re: Front Door Rubber? | Joined: Sep 2018 Posts: 111 Likes: 2 member | OP member Joined: Sep 2018 Posts: 111 Likes: 2 | I will check with Soft Seal tomorrow about the door seals and report than! Thanks again I guess! | | | Re: Front Door Rubber? | Joined: Sep 2018 Posts: 111 Likes: 2 member | OP member Joined: Sep 2018 Posts: 111 Likes: 2 | Guess I need a crash course in reading retention, to many projects pulling different direction! No-Spark already said Soft Seal won't be available till March and their web site confirms "out of stock". Checking with Steele Rubber looks like front door seals only available in kit form which would include rubber I don't need. Will call them tomorrow. Used to have their 1" thick catalog but lent it out years ago and never got it back!

I only need right front, left front for a '73-'78, if someone wanted to go in with me on the slider & rear doors OR barn doors side & rear I would order the kit. Any takers? | | | Re: Front Door Rubber? | Joined: May 2018 Posts: 2,397 Likes: 64 veteran | veteran Joined: May 2018 Posts: 2,397 Likes: 64 | I have several boxes of later model mouldings. I buy even if I don't need..sorta a hoarder pack rat thing but when you deal with vans and not muscle cars you have too. As much as I hated too i put straight 1984 front doors on my 73 because I got them for $50 a pair,I have double weatherstrip because I forgot I ordered some last year..lol.also ordered rear door and slider.
When in doubt..get the sawzall out..
