We bought our Vandura about 10 years ago from a Gold Panner
here in California. My kids were little, they still fit in the top conversion. Now they are old & tall, and we are old & fatter, so only two of us fit in the van and the top sleeper is storage.
My Vandura was converted in 1976 by Santana Industries. We are having some serious leak issues. A few years ago, we had the crazy idea of lifting off the roof ourselves and resealing it, but the leaks are still there.
A year ago the engine blew a rod, and after much contemplating we had the engine refurbished. I just love this van, and now it has 300 miles on it
. I was out of commission due to an injury, but my goal it so get Bessie back on the road by next Spring. ALL window seals need replacing, the inside needs to be rehabed due to water damage, and I am self teaching with YouTube.
