No wonder my tail lights fill up with water and leak like crazy!

[Linked Image]

Anyone happen to know where I can get replacement gaskets so I don't have to attempt making my own?

Most dont give up the gasket without you buyin the cover also.

Those lights are getting harder to find !

Might be easier to make than find.

Yeah...these came with the van but the gaskets have always been roached because there were only two screws holding in each light. Now that I’m getting ready to start work on the interior I’ve got to seal up all the weird leaks.

I’ll probably just need to cut my own from some thick foam or whatnot.

For the record, I found this: https://www.oldsobsolete.com/produc...3-1978-gmt-tail-lamp-gasket-nos-5962564/

Problem is, they only actually have one in stock. Looks like I'd better buy a new exacto blade...

Not yet. I'm going to try putting mine in some boiling water for a few minutes to see if they'll soften up enough to be re-used and if that doesn't work, I'll be making some.

Unless, of course, you happen to have a couple in good shape that you're willing to part with. 🙂

Yup, that sure would would be an easy fix. It would also suck if I ever had to change a bulb.

Way too thin.

I picked up some 5mm foam rubber gasket material today so I can make some if the boiling water trick doesn't work.
