Has anyone tried this on a 90s G20?
Do yall think it will work on a 94 G20?
My heater core went on strike.
I'm considering this technique unless someone with more sense than me chimes in...

A previous owner took that janky route with my van. Luckily I found a NOS dash to replace it.

Definitely don't cut the dashboard. It isn't all that hard to remove in these vans. Just pull it out the correct way and do it right. The rest of the video looks legit though. Be sure to redo the all the seals around where the HVAC boxes attach to the firewall or you are inviting rain leaks.

Sorry I'm late, but...
Don't cut the dash. It takes longer to do it the right way... but it's the right way. LOL
I did the heater core on my '92 a couple of years ago, and I'm really glad I didn't go that route (although I did consider it).

If you try it and don't like it, I have a dash for a Chevy van late 80's to 90's that has never been installed in a van or used. NOS that I would be willing to sell (has one small blemish)

Color of the dash is maroon / red / burgundy

Hey Yall, I appreciate the replies and advice. I decided against cutting up the dash. when I have a couple of days off, i'm going to pull it and replace it.
