Since i ended up scrapping my '80 G20 i have since moved on to this build. I have actually owned this van for 2 years now. But finally got it home in December of last year after the engine blew in our '16 Kia Soul. We ended up having to rush it into service because of this. So it is one of those rolling builds as it gets used occasionally when needed. Though at the moment it sits in the driveway as a movable storage due to a power steering and exhaust leak. Both of which i plan on dealing with by winter as i will be using this as my winter vehicle for this year at least.
Work done so far:
New Hercules all season tires installed just at the end of winter.
Parts on hand to go on:
Spare set of steel wheels from my old 2000 Astro cargo van for use for winter
The van itself is a 1999 Chevy Astro LT Awd with the quad bucket seats and no rear bench as it was not included with the van. More then likely i will end up building a bed back there with storage under it for recovery gear and tools. This will be more of an expo style build rather then the typical custom builds seen on here with some custom touches along the way.
By that i mean it will be fitted with a lift kit eventually along with some offroad lighting as the plan is to eventually use the van to explore ghost towns all over the province.
Anyways on to the pics..
From the first night we started driving it:
