So today I went to my local JunkHeaven and found 2 seats from a 93 Ford Van but when I looked in the back I saw this bench seat that, you can tell, didn't belong there. It was old school vinyl blue (IN GOOD SHAPE) and it had seat belts. One thing I noticed was that at the ends of the bench it had armrests and the armrests had those lid pop-up ashtrays.

I was so happy to see it and since I have a 75 E-150 shorty with a brown/tan and black and old ford blue color scheme going on, I bought it.

How can I Identify the origin of the bench seat?

Help me fellas. laugh

Most of the old school vanners (not me LOL!) can identify them from sight. I lucked out and found Ford tags on the seatbelts of the tan bench I'm giving away, and Ford stickers on the captain chairs I just bought. Look all over the seat, under it, on the rails, inside the seat belts, etc. for a tag or sticker of some sort. Also the older GM buckles usually had a GM logo in the push button, and the Ford buckles that I've seen had a star type design on the push button.

I looked all over and all found was GM on the seat belt latch.
No other forms of ID.

I will leave as is and install it in the van. I will take pics laugh

Thanks fellas

Is it a 3 or a 4 seater ..... the bench from the rear of a EXT is a 4, the other 3 benches are 3 seaters

Does it have clips or pads to lock them down to the floor board ?

I had a 1979 K5 Blazer that had the type of seat you are describing.

it used to be welded shut. the cut grinded to remove it. local welding shops are asking around 250 to make 4 new brackets and welded to the floor.
