Haven't done a G series yet, but I would imagine it's the same as a C series pickup. Only issue I ran into was doing a 3.5" spindle + 2" spring on a 1971 C10 and my bottom A-arm rubbed the inside lip of my rim really bad. Was running 15x8 Chevy truck rally at the time. Switched to 15x7 stock truck steels and worked fine. If I had went with the 3" spindle instead, it would have been fine. Measure several times to be sure. Other than that, thickness of the rotor shouldn't make a difference in spindle length or anything.

Buy the spindles to match your rotor thickness. There's a difference in the early 1 inch and the 1 1/4 spindles. The C10 units are a bolt-in but you'll need new brake hoses. The late 80's C30 front hoses will fit the new rotor location and be safer than flexible generic hoses.
